About CES

CES (Competitive Edge Sports) was founded by Chip Smith in the mid-1990s. Soon after, Chip invited Robby Stewart to join his team as Director of Strength and Conditioning. The idea was to teach elite-level athletes how to be better using a training system designed and developed by Chip after studying in the former Soviet Union.

CES is widely recognized as the worldwide leader in elite level sports performance training today, as is evidenced by Chip’s unrivaled client list of elite professional athletes. Chip’s studies in the mid 1980s at the famed Soviet Sports Institute inspired him to create his revolutionary speed, strength and sports performance training system, which is implemented through his own personal line of proprietary equipment. During Chip’s twelve-year tenure as the Director of Athletics at the prestigious Atlanta Athletic Club (a position first held by John Heisman of Heisman Trophy Fame), he established CES as a result of his growing reputation and the unprecedented results of his system among NFL, NBA, MLB and ATP professionals. In 1999 the exponential growth and success of Chip’s patented CES System among professional athletes led to the expansion of CES into a 36,000 square foot private training facility in Duluth, Georgia. After three decades of unrivaled industry success, CES is now expanding world-wide to bring Chip’s system to the world.

The names Chip Smith and CES are globally recognized among the world’s premier professional athletes in virtually every sport. With an active roster of over 300 professional athletes and a combined history of training over 1,000, CES Clients represent nearly 25% of all current active National Football League Players. The CES Proprietary System has produced NFL MVPs, NBA All-Stars, MLB Batting Champions, ATP and PGA Tour Professionals alike, offering sport specific, position specific and movement specific training based upon specific resistance, over-speed movement, and speed reaction techniques. All-Pro athletes like Brian Urlacher, Champ Bailey, Mark Price, Michael Barrett and Jeff Francoeur headline the CES Training Family roster, which casts an unmistakable shadow across every major professional sports league.

The CES System is implemented through an innovative line of proprietary training equipment, which consistently produces unparalleled improvements in strength, speed, responsiveness and agility for CES clients. The dramatic performance results accredited to the CES System make Chip Smith one of the most highly regarded and sought after Sports Performance Coaches in the world today. The proven results of Chip’s system and his proprietary equipment will now be made available to serious athletes of all ages across the sports spectrum, creating a new high growth market in the sports industry.
